How To Easily Access Your Apps – And Add It To Your Build Menu

Good afternoon all,

Now that Insomniacs Users can download and install the best Apps & Apks via the Insomniacs website’s new ‘Downloads’ section. I thought it would be a good idea for me to show Users how to firstly, easily access all your installed apps, straight from your build, then show you how to easily add your installed Apks to your Build Menu. This can be done in a few simple steps. Even if you are not tech savvy, you can do this, as the guide below has step by step screnshots to make it super easy to follow for all Users.

Some Users are un-aware, that you can access all your devices installed Apps and Apks, directly from your Insomniacs Build or Kodi. And you can even add them to your main menu, within just a few steps for super easy access.

Most users, normally exit Kodi, to access their ‘Apps’ but you don’t need to do this. . Below I will show you how to access your Apps directly from your Insomniacs build. Aswel as how to add your favorite Apps/Apks to your Builds main menu. Or any section of your choice!

For example: If like me, you use CatMouse, for your Movies and TV-Shows, then you can add CatMouse, to your submenu, of your Movies or TV-Show section of your build. Or both.  And you can add as many Apps as you want to as many sections as you want. And below I will show you how you can do this.

For this guide only, I will be using the Kodi 18 – Insomniacs Black & Gold Build. The same process applies for all other Insomniacs Builds.

Ok, lets get started. First I will show you how to easily access your installed Apps/Apks. Then I will show you how to add them to your main menu.

How to access your installed Apps/Apks straight from Kodi, or your Insomniacs Build:

To access your installed Apps, scroll to the ‘Add-Ons‘ section on your Build main menu.. Then press down, to the submenu, of the Add-Ons section, and click ‘Android Apps‘ (As Shown Below.)

Once you have clicked on ‘Android Apps‘ (Or if your using the PLUH Build, this is called ‘My Apps‘) You will then see all of the Installed Apps/Apks on your device (As Shown Below)

And That’s It!……

This is how easy it is to access all of your Installed Apps/Apks. You don’t need to leve Kodi to access your Apps.

How to I add Apps/Apks to my kodi or Insomniacs Build main menu?

The first thing that you need to do, is on the list of your installed Apps, you need to add the App you want to add to the menu to your favorite. For this guide only, I am adding CatMouse to the TV-Shows submenu. So i will scroll down and highlight the CatMouse App. (As shown below)

Once highlighted, you then need to hold the ‘OK‘ button. You will then see the option, to add this App to your favorite. (As Shown Below)

Once you have added the App to your favorite(s) Press back to the Build main menu. Then scroll to the ‘SYSTEMS‘ section. And press down on the submenu, and click the ‘SKIN SETTINGS‘ option. (As highlighted below)

Once you have clicked on ‘SKIN SETTINGS‘ you will then see the Skin settings menu. Now scroll across and click on the ‘Setup the Aeon Nox main menu‘ option. (As highlighted below)

Once you have clicked on the ‘Setup Aeon Nox Main Menu‘ you will then see all the sections of the Build’s main menu. Now highlight the menu you want to add the App to. As I am adding the CatMouse App to the TV-Shows submenu section. I need to scroll down, and highlight the TV-Shows secton (As highlighted below)

Now simply, scroll across, then go down and click on the ‘Manage Submenu‘ option. (As highlighted in the screenshot below)

Once you have clicked on the ‘Manage Submenu‘ option. You will then see the list of all submenu Add-Ons for that section. ( As Shown below)

Please don’t be phased by all the menu options. Simply, scroll down and click on the ‘ADD‘ option.

Once you click on the ‘ADD‘ option. You will then see that a <None> appears in the left menu. (As Shown Below)

Now scroll down and click on the ‘Change action‘ option. To now add your App. (As Shown Below)

Once you click on the ‘Change action‘ option. You will then see the following menu:

As you have already added the App to your favorite, you now need to Scroll down and click on the ‘Favorite‘ option. (As highlighted in the screenshot above)

You will now see the list of your favorites. (As shown below)

As I am adding ‘CatMouse‘ to the menu. I now need to click on ‘CatMouse‘. Do the same, and click on the App you want to add to the build submenu. Once you add your App, you will then be returned to the following screen. (As Shown Below)

Your almost done.. Now that you have added the App to your submenu. You now need to name it. To name the file, simply. click on the ‘SET LABEL‘ option. (As highlighted below)

When you have clicked on the ‘SET LABEL‘ the usual build keyboard will open up. So now just name the App. (As Shown Below)

Once you have named your App. Click on ‘DONE‘. When you have cliked on ‘DONE‘ you will then see your newly added App in the menu on the left. (As Shown Below)

Now press back continuously, until you reach the Build’s main menu. Once you get to the main menu, you will then see the following at the top of your screen. This is just saving the newly added App to your Build. Allow this to complete, as it only takes a few seconds.. (As Shown Below)

Woo-Hoo Your done!!….. If you now scroll to the menu, where  you just added your App. You will now see your newly added item. As I added the CatMouse App to the TV-Shows section. As shown below I can now see the CatMouse App.

Now if you click on your newly added App item, the App will open directly straight from your Build. And from th section you just added.. 🙂

Once you have added one App. There will be no stopping you!.. Now, you will easily be able to add as many apks as you like. You can for example add one or two Sport Apps to the Sports section. Or even totally transform a section of the build to your personal liking.

I hope that this step by step guide has been helpful. Please feel free to comment below, to let us know how you got on with adding your Apps to your Builds main menu.

Thank-You

The Insomniacs Team.
